I wish you the best on your journey. I started my thru hike on April 9th, 22 years ago and I still draw upon the lessons I learned along the trail.
Its a long way and a lot of work. When your feet are burning and your shoulders aching, keep going. You can do it. Accepting the kindness and help of others along the way is part of the trail magic, learning to accept it is one of the lessons I learned. I hope it works that way for you.
You are about two weeks ahead of us as we leave SPringer on the 15th of March.
We will be at Amicolala Falls on the night of the 13th and going to cheer everyone on. We are leaving from the parking lot at the Service road #42 we hope, if the ruts and mire aren’t too bad.
Best of luck out there. Hike smart and have a blast!
